Mary Ann Scully, life-long banker, mother, and philantrophist

Mary Ann is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Howard Bank and chairs the bank's board of directors. She is a lifelong banker with over 35 years of varied executive experiences in the Maryland marketplace. In 2003, she headed the organizing team for Howard Bank, the first new bank to open in the county in 15 years. Prior to organizing Howard Bank, Mary Ann was employed by Allfirst Bank (formerly The First National Bank of Maryland and now M&T Bank) from 1973-2003. Included in the positions she held were Executive Vice President for Regional Banking, Senior Vice President for Strategic Planning, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Senior Vice President / Group Head of International Banking. As EVP for Regional Banking for Allfirst Bank, Mary Ann managed all branch, small business and middle market customer activities in four states and the District of Columbia.

Scully and her family reside in West Friendship, Maryland.

Chandra G. Pitts is a social entrepreneur working with passion and integrity to educate, uplift and propel children and their families on a holistic journey toward excellence through education. Her indelible dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of others has driven her success throughout her career. As Founder and CEO of The Village Learning Center, Chandra lead the development of an innovative program model designed to bring learning to life for elementary, middle and high school students. The model was adopted in 2009 by the Department of Education in Delaware and New Jersey. With 19 program sites located in the heart of high need communities throughout both states, TVLC provides vital academic support to students at no cost to families. Pitts is also the author of Powerful Little Girl, a poetic and inspirational work that speaks to the strength and beauty born within every woman and our ability to reconnect with that existence and realize our dreams, no matter what age.

She has also worked on several television productions and large-scale events, including the 2004 BET 10th Annual Walk of Fame honoring Smokey Robinson; Mark Twain Prize Award for Comedy, NewsHour with Jim Lehrer; Kennedy Center Honors, for which she received two Primetime Emmys from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for her contribution to the 2009 – 2010, 2010 – 2011 telecasts; 2004 Presidential Election Night Event for John Kerry and John Edwards, Christmas in Washington; 2005 Presidential Inauguration Concert for the American Troops; An American Celebration at Ford’s Theatre; the 2006  In Performance at the White House: Dance Theater of Harlem in conjunction with WETA- PBS; and the 2009 Presidential Inauguration events including the “We Are One” Concert at the Lincoln Memorial and the Neighborhood Ball.
